In 2011, we continued to expand our publishing activities and the foreign readership by preparing the fifth issue of the year in English. FLASH ART #1. English Issue, Czech & Slovak Edition

In 2011, we continued to expand our publishing activities and the foreign readership by preparing the fifth issue of the year in English. This issue provided a comprehensive overview of artistic events in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It contained profiles of the most important artists of the present (Dominik Lang, Roman Ondák, Ján Vasilko, Marek Kvetán, Mark Ther, Jiří Kovanda, etc.), as well as important personalities of the older generation, whose work became recognised in the international context like Martin Koller or Miroslav Tichy.

The English issue was created mainly due to the lack of information of foreign audiences about the Czech and Slovak scene of contemporary art. It had its distribution premiere at the Venice Biennale, but it was also distributed at the Prague Biennale. It was also available at the prestigious Frieze Contemporary Art Fair or at the Italian Art Fair in Turin, Artissima. It was sent to prestigious world museums and international institutions of contemporary art. It was distributed, among others, in Berlin, Rome, London, New York, Budapest, Vienna and Warsaw. The magazine is still presented at prestigious international fairs and art shows.
